METALLICA And GUNS N' ROSES Are Among World's Top-Earning Musicians Of 2019, According To FORBES

On Friday (December 6) the outlet a published a report that revealed METALLICA earned $68.5 million this year, landing the the No. 10 spot on the Forbes list of Highest-Earning Musicians. GUNS N' ROSES came in at No. 25, with 2019 earnings of $44 million.
To determine its rankings, Forbes considers income from touring, music and outside business ventures with the help of Pollstar, Nielsen Music and interviews with industry insiders, including many of the stars themselves. Forbes's list measures pretax earnings and does not deduct fees for agents, managers or lawyers.
Earlier this week, Billboard reported that METALLICA was the highest-ranked hard rock act on the magazine's year-end Boxscore chart, with a combined gross of $177 million from 46 reported concerts during the band's ongoing "WorldWired" tour. The band sold 1.7 million tickets around the world during the 12-month time frame that determined the chart's rankings.
GUNS N' ROSES' "Not In This Lifetime" tour is believed to be the third-highest-grossing tour of all time, having generated more than $580 million since it began three and a half years ago.
Launched in April 2016, "Not in This Lifetime" features classic-lineup members Slash, Duff McKagan and singer Axl Rose backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
